Printing our Cold Front Necklace (Timelapse)

We’re keeping today’s blog short, sweet, and to the point. As part of our mission to spread the love of science, one of our oldest traditions here at Sci Chic is to share as much educational behind the scenes content as possible. 3D printing is still a relatively new manufacturing method, and as such, there’s a large amount of interest surrounding it. And we can understand why. It’s fascinating, it’s unique, and put simply, it’s just plain cool. We love our printers, and even after working with them day in and day out, we’re still impressed by their capabilities. But we’re not going to keep them all to ourselves here at Sci Chic headquarters. No, we'd like to share them with...

Unboxing April's Sci Chic Kids Engineering Box!

Happy Thursday, Sci Chic fans! As we announced earlier this week, all of April’s boxes have been mailed. Those already subscribed to our subscription service will find their month’s-worth of science fashion in their mailbox any day now -- if they haven’t already! She has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, she's a Ph. D. candidate at the University of Colorado Boulder, and to top it all off, she's a lady rocket scientist! So, without further ado, here's our interview with the one, the only, Miss Aerospace!  After completing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, one might think to take it easy for a while, but Marielle Pellegrino is more than just a rocket scientists (as if that wasn't enough). Her passions extend far beyond the field of engineering, which drove her to create Missaerospace.com,...

Science Outfit of the Day: Lab Style

Happy April, Sci Chic fans! As part of our ongoing efforts to show off the fashionable side of science, we’re happy to launch our new blog series: Science Outfit of the Day! To kick off this series, we’re starting with an outfit centered around the Atom Necklace, one of our classic, science inspired pieces. When working in the lab, wearing a lab coat is essential. But, while a lab coat is proper attire, and will keep you safe, it’s no big secret that they’re a bit lacking in the style department. While we’re not here to announce the launch of our new, fashionable line of lab coats, we are happy to share this outfit to make your lab days as...
